2 mm 7x7 Stainless Wire Rope Fork Gripper Kit For Soundproof Ceiling Panels

Where standard 1.5 mm cable feels light, this kit steps up to 2 mm 7x7 stainless steel rope with a matching fork gripper. It is aimed at large acoustic ceiling rafts, dense mass-loaded vinyl faced panels and long drop heights up to 5 m, where rope stretch and visual sag are the real enemies of a clean ceiling.

Why 2 mm 7x7 Rather Than 1x19

The 7x7 construction bends around the gripper collet without memory kinks, which keeps the rope straight after repeated height changes during commissioning. It also gives a softer surface for the locking jaws, so the same gripper can be re-used across several installation cycles without rope damage.

Tensioning Sequence

Install the anchors first, hang the panel on four points, then level in two passes: bring the panel to within 20 mm on all points, check with a laser or long spirit level, and finish by hand. Because the gripper releases with a short push of the collar, the second pass takes seconds per point rather than a re-rig.

Customisation

Rope length, rope colour (PVC coated black or white), gripper finish, anchor type and carton printing can all be specified per order. Kits can also ship without the anchor for projects where the ceiling interface is supplied by others.

Supply Notes

Every batch is proof loaded to 2x the safe working load and inspected for jaw grip before packing. Mixed containers with other suspension hardware are consolidated free of charge.
